When kids struggle academically, behaviorally or socially parents struggle to find the best solution. They are often pointed toward medication or strict behavioral plans. Susan offers a different approach: a blend of neurofeedback and therapy. Neurofeedback is a powerful (and painless) tool that helps the brain function better by helping it learn to regulate itself. A regulated brain is less reactive, learns better, rests better and relates better.
When the brain starts to regulate, the client and the family can tackle feelings and issues that weren’t possible before. She uses play therapy, talk therapy, and parenting support to work through feelings and help the family gain skills.
Susan understands that all client’s needs are different.
Young children communicate through play. Elementary aged kids may talk while throwing a ball or playing a game. Teens may need to take a walk with her. One thing they have in common, though… they’re practically always hungry so everyone gets a snack! She matches the therapy type to the individual. She does this with or without neurofeedback.
There are a handful of places in the area who offer high-quality neurofeedback and even fewer who blend talk or play therapy with neurofeedback. Susan is passionate about helping people finding their best life and walking out of Amend with hope that they hadn’t felt before.
